I bought the SwiftScan Portable Document Scanner on March 3 for use by our sales team at Horizon Realty Group. The device weighs less than 400 grams and fits easily into a laptop bag. Setup required downloading the SwiftScan app, which took about three minutes. The scanner connects to a phone or laptop via Bluetooth and produces clear 300-DPI scans of contracts, receipts, and business cards. The main advantage is speed. A single-page contract scans in roughly four seconds. However, the automatic document feeder jams occasionally with thicker paper, such as cardstock. I emailed help@swiftscan.com on March 7, and a support agent replied within six hours, recommending that we feed cardstock one sheet at a time. Battery life lasts about 250 scans per charge, which easily covers a full day in the field. At $119.00, the SwiftScan is a smart investment for mobile professionals who need to digitize documents away from the office.
